You are such an amazing girl ! I truly understand every single word you wrote .
In 1997 I was diagnosed with CRPS in my left arm. I live in the US and owned my own shoppe at the time. I was using my hands 12 hours or more each day and was told the RSD was caused by repetitive motion. Big word for ,doing the same thing over and over , even after your hand says STOP I’ve had enough. :0)
I had a doctor for the first 10 years that was not a nice person, thankfully I found amazing Doctors at Barnes Jewish Hospital in my 12th year.
Paige never stop believing things will get better. Hold on to hope !! Although my RSD affects my left arm and hand, left foot and neck ,my pain is now controlled to a level I can tolerate. I stay in contact with my pain doctors, but have not had a block for over three years.
Sadly, in 2012, my mother had a very simple foot surgery that left her with CRPS
In her right foot and leg. My heart was broken. Because only you know Paige how horrible the pain is, and to know my mom has to go thru this was very hard for me. But we are very close and can truly understand the others pain.
Paige, you have an amazing family, that is such a blessing to you. Your words will comfort another child or teen that has just started the journey you have been on. Somehow , it does help us to know we are not crazy. That this pain is real, and we are NOT DRAMA QUEENS. God bless you and your family, and if your mom ever needs to chat feel free to email me. It’s also hard on your dad, and my husband too. So if he would wish to email my husband I will forward his note. Stay strong and continue to hope for the best. I send my prayers and friendship across the ocean to you. jaime

My name is Alex and I stumbled upon your site while doing a quick Google search. Before I get into this, I would like to complement your site on the theme that is currently has, simple yet stylish. Back on topic, I really love the posts and the quality of them, most of the sites that write about the same things that you do are very repetitive and boring. I enjoy reading your posts, keep it up. Guess that’s all I’ll be posting, also, feel free to check out my sons site if you have time (I’m still working on mine, not the smartest in tech haha :P) free dj software or if that doesn’t show up, http://free-dj-software.blogspot.com Keep on blogging! -Alex S.

Is this a paid subject matter or did you customize it yourself? Anyway stay up the nice quality writing, it is uncommon to see a nice blog like this one these days..|

My son, Daniel, 11, has this. He is also hypermobile. He had a flare before Christmas -then had minor emergency surgery and is now using crutches. He has physio oncea week and we take him swimming once a week-with his friends one at a time-which he loves. He may walk again-his physio and consultant say he can but we will have to wait and see. I hope you have some ease of your pain. Kindest wishes, from Julie-Danny’s mum. Xx

I think its brilliant the way youve spoken out about this little understood condition. I know just what youre going through (or perhaps from your mums perspective!) As my son developed crps aged 9 when he twisted his ankle. One of the hardest things is getting professionals to even believe in it (we found!). My son was in a wheellchair for two years. He did then go into complete spontaneous remission for a whole summer (this can and does happen). Sadly it came back when he had a traumatic start at secondary school. He’s 15 now. He still has it but has made huge progress. We’ve been to alot of hospitals, including the mineral hospital in Bath. Hes now having brilliant treatment at Great Ormond street. The most important thing is to never give up or lose sight of your goals, and also to keep up your friendships. These things were lost for my boy which is why he’s still suffering, but there is light at the end of the tunnel, and the more active and busy you are the better. Also, as you may know, the prognosis in children is very good (much better than for older people) keep fighting, but also be kind to yourself. Xxx

I am very lucky to have the support of my family and friends without them I don’t think I would of been able to cope. There are still days where all I want to do is get the doctors to cut off my limbs but then I remind myself that I am the lucky one

remember when you are down the only way is up and when you are up the view is amazing

Lots of love
Paige x
